The Girls Moon Area High School Lacrosse 2026 Team has had an unforgettable season, and many would consider it a successful year. Throughout the season, they competed against many difficult teams to find where they stand in the WPIAL this year. Finishing with an impressive 10-5 overall record, the Tigers proved that they were capable of competing at a very high level while continuing to grow together as a team. According to LaxNumbers, Moon Area was ranked 10th in the PA West Girls rankings and scored a total of 150 goals during the season.
Although the season was filled with many exciting wins, the team also faced several difficult losses. Challenging games against programs such as Mars Area and Upper Saint Clair showed the girls that there were still aspects of their game that could improve moving forward. Moon fell to Mars Area by a score of 14-1 earlier in the season and later ended their year with an emotional 18-8 loss against Upper Saint Clair. Despite the heartbreaking ending, the season was far from disappointing. The Tigers earned major victories against talented teams such as North Allegheny, Peters Township, and South Fayette, proving their determination and skill throughout the year. One of the team’s most impressive wins came against North Allegheny, where Moon secured a 15-9 victory behind strong offensive performances from Kamryn White, Scarlet Eubanks, and Gianna DeLuca.
The bonding this team created throughout the season, however, will not vanish. The chemistry among the players became one of the strongest aspects of the team and helped the girls remain positive through both victories and setbacks. I interviewed two members of the lacrosse team about what they felt this season brought to them and what the team atmosphere was like.
Junior Madison Shaver shared that the season was “a lot of fun to be involved with such a competitive group of girls. We never failed to have fun on and off the field.” She reflected on the close friendships and positive environment that the team built throughout the year.
Junior captain Gianna DeLuca also reflected on the season, explaining that it was an “amazing continuation of the team that we built last year. We definitely had to face hard teams, which was a challenge for us, but in the end, it brought us together and furthered our bond as a team.” DeLuca also highlighted several major accomplishments reached by players on the team. She explained, “All of this teamwork allowed some of the girls on our team to reach huge milestones. I reached one hundred career goals, Kamryn White reached one hundred career points, and Scarlet Eubanks also reached fifty goals, which were huge accomplishments for this team.”
Even though the season has officially ended, the memories, friendships, and accomplishments made by the 2026 Moon Area Girls Lacrosse Team will continue to leave an impact on both the players and the program for many years.
