For classic Pittsburgh experience, visiting Mount Washington I know it and looking out at the overlook is one of the best places to go. This overlooks the whole city especially at sunset and it’s one of those places that really never gets old no matter how many times you go.
Whenever you want to lay back day parks like Schenley or Frick are great for sports picnics or just hanging out with friends. In those parks it will never get empty, you’ll usually get the same people playing pick-up games or sitting around talking which makes it feel very summer break energy.
Overall summer in Pittsburgh for high school students is about enjoying the time outside. Catching a Pirates game, hitting Shore Goals, stopping by Farmers Market, and just spend time outside.
