Now running through January 4th at Phipps Conservatory, the Winter Light Garden is open nightly at 4 p.m. This year’s theme for the light snow is “Wild Winter”. Step into a wonderland of festive displays and intricate scenes of flora. This year is even brighter and better with many new features in the show! See twinkling flowers, seasonal classics like poinsettias, glowing icebergs, and a starry night light canopy above breathtaking flowers. There are new features with displays as well as an octopi chandelier, birdhouses, an orb tree, and many others. The New Garden Railroad: The Age of Dinosaurs is also for your viewing pleasure. Take a little sibling, niece or nephew into the past, with miniature dinosaurs from the Mesozoic Period!
Not only is Phipps a dazzling family destination, they are also dedicated to being sustainable. All of the lights used are energy efficient LED lights. Since 2005, all of their electricity has been renewable, some of it produced by Phipps. For 15 years, all of the carbon dioxide emitted to heat the buildings at Phipps has been offset, reducing carbon emissions by 56% per square foot. That’s double the Paris Climate Agreement target of 26-28% by 2025.
