The NACAC Nation College Fair is coming back to Pittsburgh and just in time for spring break. It was originally planned for January 28th, 2026, however due to inclement weather it was cancelled. Fortunately, college counselors from all over have worked to allow this opportunity to be presented again. The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is designed to help the high school students explore their options for higher education in a welcoming and informative environment. Tuesday March 24th – Wednesday March 25th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The times span from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. then starting back up again at 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on the 24th and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on March 25.
The event is intended to bring hundreds of colleges and universities together across the country under one roof to inform students from all over. Giving students the chance to speak directly with admissions representatives. Attendees can ask questions about academic programs, campus life, housing finical aid, extracurricular activities, and more. Instead of visiting multiple campuses, students can compare many schools in one convenient location.
If you’re thinking about attending the college fair, you must pick up and sign a permission slip from the counseling center. The permission slip must be returned to the counseling center by the March 18th. Before the fair, make sure to register online to receive a barcode for easy onsite access to college representatives. Print the barcode and bring it the fair as an electronic id. It is also recommended by the college fair professionals on the website to ask yourself a few questions before you attend:
- “Do I want to attend a large, medium, or small school?”
- “Do I want to attend an urban, suburban, or rural school?”
- “Do I want to attend a two-year, four year, single-sex, or religiously affiliated school?”
- “Do I want to participate in athletics, clubs, fraternities, sororities, or special programs such as study abroad or cooperative education?”
It is also helpful to research the colleges attending the fair ahead of time to determine if they meet your search criteria. Make a list of schools that match your interests and prepare specific questions to ask the college representatives. Taking these steps will allow you to make the most of your experience.
The NACAC National College Fair offers students a unique opportunity to take an important step toward their future education. By attending, students are able to gather valuable information, explore new possibilities, and begin making informed decisions about life after high school.
