The one day a year when picky eaters do not always get what they want. Seeing the table and looking at stuffing, turkey, and corn makes them sick to their stomach. During Thanksgiving, the picky eaters just wait and hope there is dessert after dinner to have something to eat. But with picky eaters, they do not even eat all the desserts that might be there. An apple pie could be a picky eater worst enemy. They stare at the turkey and wish it was a plate of chicken fingers and fries. However, there are some ways for picky eaters to overcome this daunting challenging.
Instead of mopping around the dinner table all Thanksgiving, you can try to bring your own food that you would enjoy. Bringing your own food allows no one to hear you complain and it will make you happy as well. Whether it is a pack of goldfish to get you through for a couple of hours or a whole pizza all for yourself, any food would be better than shoving unwanted food into yourself.
However, maybe it is time for you to try at least one new piece of food for Thanksgiving this year. It could just be as easy as trying a new piece of food like turkey but just adding your favorite dressing or condiment to it like ketchup to make it taste better! You never truly know if they do not like the food unless you have tried it. There is also another effective method which is to plug your nose and close your eyes and shove the food in your mouth. You do not even taste it or see it, but you could now tell everyone you got to try a new piece of food!
Hopefully, when you go to Thanksgiving dinner, the people who are making your food are your favorite aunt, uncle, or grandparents so you could just ask them in advance to make you your favorite food! But if not, there are other ways to overcome this issue every Thanksgiving.
Always remember that Thanksgiving is not always only about the food, but about the people you share it with and feeling grateful for everything that you have. After Thanksgiving, you could go back to your old ways and eat all of the normal food you usually would, but for one day maybe you could try to expand your food plate just a bit.
