With the holiday season approaching so is Moon Boys Basketball! With the new season right around the corner lets remember the victories and amazing moments from last season. For the overall season they went 25- 4 and for the conference 10-0 and not to mention they won the WPIAL playoffs! Coming into a new season after such a memorable and victorious season we went around the school and asked a few of the players how practice is looking so far, thoughts about the season, and some personal goals and rituals. Starting off with Senior shooting guard Amir Turner when he was asked his thoughts based off how practice had been going so far how the team would be he said “ I think were gonna do really well again and our goal is to make it back the WPIAL which I believe we can do.” Next we asked him if he had any personal pregame rituals he has done or is playing to do this season, Amirs response to this was” I like to pray before each game” he also mentioned” Depending what I ate before the last game if I played good I will eat that again.” The last question we asked Amir was who their toughest opponent would be this season to which he said. Chartiers Valley or Montour.” Moving onto the next player, Junior guard AJ Bueford. We first asked AJ if he had a personal goal for this upcoming season and without any doubt or hesitation he said” Win Section, WPIALS, and States.” AJ, when asked the question on thoughts of how season will look based of the practice, responded with” Good…everything is all coming together but that they still have a few more plays to learn.” Ending with our last interview with Junior center Caleb Walkowski. Diving into the first question we asked he if he has any pregame rituals in store for this season he said, “Probably just listen to music.” With that we asked what game will be their toughest one and without hesitation he said, “Central Catholic.” Lastly, we asked Caleb if he had any personal goals and he said, “to start a game.” Based off all these players’ optimistic attitudes, confident answers, and excitement it seeming like this season will be another amazing one! The first game is Friday the 29th so be sure to show up with your tiger pride and be ready to cheer them on to vicitory!
