The Summer I Turned Pretty photo for season 3
With the new season of the Summer I Turned Pretty out, the one big question was team Jeremiah or team Conrad. Suspense built up this whole summer with one episode every week only on Wednesdays. This left people anxious to know who Belly would ultimately end up with.
In the last episode, Belly spends her time in Paris away from all the drama back at home. She seemed to be settling into her new life there, but there was one thing missing: Conrad. Back at home, Jerimiah embraces his chef career and his new relationship with his coworker Denise. Before they got together, Denise kindly offered Jerimiah a place to stay during his rough time after the engagement got called off between Jerimiah and Belly. Jeremiah and Denise got to know each other better and began to develop a romantic relationship with each other.
Conrad still couldn’t accept the fact that Belly was living a completely different life and he always wondered what it would be like for her. Conrad buys a ticket and goes to Paris to see Belly for her 22nd birthday. When Conrad shows up at Belly’s apartment in Paris, he sees her with Benito, which brought a sense of jealously towards him. Benito and Conrad have tense moments in the show when they talked about Benito’s past relationship that he shared with Belly, but to his surprise, she ended things with Benito six weeks before. Conrad after learning this finally lets down his walls and admits his true feelings for Belly. Conrad and Belly after talking through things, realize they are both perfect for each other and go back to Cousins together. However, there was no wedding between the two of them in the show which left everyone shocked.
Right after the last episode aired, Prime Video announced that a movie will bring the whole story to an actual end which excited all fans of the show. Jenny Han wanted to give Belly’s ending “another big milestone” beyond the scope of the series. The movie will hopefully give the show more closure and clearance about Conrad and Belly’s new life. Everyone hopes that the movie will have the proper ending for Belly and Conrad which would be their wedding. In the book, it happened in the third The Summer I Turned Pretty when Belly was 23, so that could give some hints towards what the movie will be like too.
Jenny Han leaves fans anxiously waiting to hear the movie release date and gets everyone excited for the last and final moments to bring the show to an end.
