There are two division one football commits on the Moon Area High School football team. Senior Braeden Stuart and Senior Daiveon Taylor. Braeden Stuart plays wide receiver and safety he committed to the US Naval Academy this June for his wide receiver position. Daiveon Taylor plays Defensive end and committed to Kent State University. Both of these players make major impact on the field as players Braeden has been a four year letter winner and Daevion transferred to moon this year and became a starter immediately.
When I talked to Braeden about his commitment to the U.S. Naval Academy he said that the Navy took him in as his first offer and he wanted to stay true to them. He talked to coach Yokitis the area recruiter for Navy who showed Braeden a lot about the Navy and respect. He also talked to Eli Heidenrich who plays the same position as him and he went to Mt. Lebanon making it easier as he is a local guy. He had a couple other option but Navy and Airforce where his main options. But Navy was closer and allowed for his family to support him more and the loyalty that Navy showed him through his process.
Meanwhile, Taylor, a defensive end who transferred to Moon this year, wasted no time making an impact earning a starting role immediately. His recruitment ultimately led him to Kent State, where he felt a strong connection with Coach Malcom, the defensive line coach and former University of Pittsburgh assistant. Taylor also leaned on advice from Kent State players AJ and Stretch, who guided him through the process. He considered offers from New Mexico State, Buffalo, and Pitt, but in the end, he believed Kent State was the right fit. Daevion is looking
forward to starting as a freshman and trying to make the biggest impact he can as a player.
In conclusion I believe that both of them will be very successful in the college career. I wish both of them the best of luck and cant wait to see them finish there senior seasons strong. Then go have college careers that turn out successful. Both Stuart and Taylor’s decisions highlight their dedication and potential. Their commitments mark an exciting chapter not only for their futures but also for the Moon Area football program. As they finish their senior seasons, both players carry high expectations and the support of their community into their Division I careers. Their journeys are just beginning, but one thing is certain: the future looks bright for Stuart and Taylor.
