Music memorabilia is something like a record, cassette tape, 8 track, cd, or even a instrument that was signed by famous artists. Music has been around for years and some of the greatest has come and gone. So, it’s no doubt that some of the memorabilia is worth a hefty amount of money. You may ask how something can that’s signed go for a lot of money. It comes down to who signed what, what’s signed and if they are alive or not, including how many things that person signed. For instance, John Lennon’s signature can go for millions of dollars due to him dying in the 80s and being part of one of the most known bands of all time. Some of his stuff doesn’t go for a lot because they are less desirable to collectors due to what his signature is on. If it’s an album like the White Album from the Beatles and it’s a first print with the numbers in the bottom right depending on the number alone gives it a huge price but with his signature on that album with a certificate of authenticity to prove it’s 100% his signature. The album with the signature can go for millions of dollars. People try to replicate signatures to get money quicky and fast. That’s why authenticity is so important to collectors. Another artist that goes for a lot is Frank Sinatra. He died in the 90s and 60% of his signatures aren’t his due to his secretary signing most of the things for him but if he did in fact sign something it goes for a couple thousand plus. If it’s an unreleased album of his or any artist, it can go for a lot of money. Clothing is also a big item in the world of collectors. Having a piece of clothing from a famous person means a lot with a authentication with it. Just the idea that a famous person is wearing that while performing is enough for collectors to want that item. Even lyrics on paper or notes go for a lot of money due to them writing on that item. Some signatures from groups or other solo artists are counted as a “holy grail” item for collectors due to the low number of signatures of theirs on one item. All in all, the world of music has a lot of collectors wanting to collect their favorite musician signature to have and show off to people.
