Prom is supposed to be one of the best nights of high school, but if you’re not careful, it can go from amazing to awkward real quick. Here’s a list of things you should not do on prom night, so you don’t end up with major regrets.
Don’t show up super late. Everyone wants to make an entrance, but showing up when everything’s already halfway over is just awkward—and you miss the fun parts.
Don’t get too wild with your outfit. Yes, prom is your time to shine, but make sure your look is still comfortable and appropriate. If you can’t walk or dance in your shoes, rethink them!
Don’t go overboard on food or drinks. No one wants to feel sick or bloated in the middle of prom. Eat smart and stay hydrated—especially if you’re dancing all night.
Don’t ditch your date (unless you really have to). Even if they’re not your soulmate, you agreed to go together. Be respectful and make the most of the night.
Don’t post everything online. Live in the moment! It’s fine to snap some pics, but spending the whole night glued to your phone kills the vibe.
Don’t start drama. Prom is not the time to bring up relationship problems or friend group fights. Keep it chill.
Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so make memories for the right reasons, not because you did something dumb you’ll be hearing about all year.
