As Valentine’s Day rounds the corner and love fills the air, we see couples forming and new love blooming in our school. This hasn’t changed in the last 50 years, as Mr. and Mrs. James celebrated their 40-year wedding anniversary, and their love story began in the halls of Moon High School at the ages of 18 and 19. After a miscommunication, Mrs. James was surprised to see Mr. James show up for their date, thinking it was another guy. Their daughter, Cori, shared the surprising fact that despite having a long, happy, and healthy marriage, they share completely opposite interests. Cori shared that “they like the complete opposite of each other, but yet, it works”. One might expect that in a relationship this long, two might grow apart, but instead they have withstood the test of time, by growing closer together throughout the years, to eventually form “one unit”. Cori also explained that seeing her parents have open and healthy communication has helped her apply open and healthy communication to her relationships. Our very own Mr. Burgess relates to their story as he and his wife met at Moon Area High School in the 90’s.
