The moon tigers boys wrestling team is getting ready for an exciting and promising season in 2024, with high expectations for success. After a strong showing in previous seasons, the team has built up its momentum and is ready to make a significant impact in the western Pennsylvania wrestling scene. When interviewed by Moon Beams members, based off of how practice has been going so far, the wrestlers predicted they will do well, sophomore Liam Costa answered this question with, “Pretty good, we work hard at practice and the coaches have us do a lot of conditioning.” When asked the same question Junior Donaven Zabela answered, “ I think we will do very well and win our section,” and sophomore Owen Bereznay answered, “We should do pretty good because we have good and hardworking guys on the team.” The wrestlers also had similar personal goals for the season, Liam had a personal goal of, “placing at WPIALs”, Donaven answered, “I would like to have a winning record and make the team better,” Owen summed up the two previous answers by stating that he would like to, “get batter every day,” The wrestling team may have some tough competition this year as Donaven said his most anticipated match is against, “Kiski Highschool” while Owen answered the same question with “Franklin Regional,” One of the key reasons for the tigers predicted success is their optimism. The team is built up of a mix of experienced upperclassmen and promising underclassmen, creating a perfect value balance of skill and potential. Their drive and determination to improve, along with the team’s commitment and hard work, have set the stage for an exciting season. Moon’s coaching staff, led by Mr. Muraco, has created a culture of discipline and teamwork that has contributed to the team’s success in recent years. Wrestling is a sport that focuses on individual technique, mental toughness, and team unity. The wrestling team must adapt to different styles of wrestling, combined with emphasis on strength and conditioning, in team chemistry that will prepare them for the challenges of the season ahead.
