As we reach the end of the fall season, many’s social media feeds are filled with what the winter fashion trends for 2024 will look like. These videos or pictures are often uploaded by or showcase the opinions of high end celebrities or social media presences. This creates an unrealistic standard and out of this world standard of what will be trendy this winter season. Below are some items that are trendy, cute, and realistic to wear as the temperature decreases and the holiday cheer increases.
The first realistic fashion trend is barrel jeans. These jeans are comfortable, cheap, and can keep you warm through this cold season. As the skinny jean fad has officially left the scene and baggier and loose fitting jeans are in full swing, barrel jeans are the perfect way to escalate the baggy jean look.
Next barn jackets are the perfect way to accessorize, elevate, and stay warm this winter. You can find these jackets almost everywhere and for a low price. Forbes magazine says barn jackets, “combine all the rustic, utilitarian details you’d expect with modern, updated fits and appealing colors.” These barn jackets are perfect for everything from going on a walk to daily wear.
The next 2024 winter fashion trend you can expect to see is lots of is the color burgundy. Incorporating burgundy into outfits this winter is the perfect way to add some color and dimension into an outfit. This trend has endless creative and monetary freedom. Burgundy is a powerful color according to color theory as its muted quality makes it grounding and warn while still maintaining the passion and energy associated with the color red.
In combination of the y2k and boho styles, suede everything from boots to purses to coats. Specifically, these timeless suede jackets are the perfect way to transition from fall to winter. Lastly, the final 2024 winter fashion trend is called easy dressing. This newly coined term stands for fashion forward, but comfy and relaxed outfits for every occasion. Marie Claire’s style director Sara Holzman says this winter will include, “ fewer neon’s, less brat green, and more a downturn toward practical and simple silhouettes that make your life easier.”
