The lead up the 2024 presidential election has been full of shocking events. First, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump by a former Bethel Park student at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July. Then, President Biden announced he was stepping down as the Democratic nominee after a poor debate performance against Donald Trump. President Biden stepping aside opened the door for the new Democratic nominee, vice president Kamala Harris. Both candidates have devoted and passionate supporters, including Taylor Swift for Kamala Harris and Elon Musk for Donald Trump. Major issues at stake for this election include abortion, immigration and the economy. Because these issues and several others are important to many people living in the United States, Americans are looking forward to casting their votes on November 5th.
