There is nothing like music. Everyone has listened to music before. Have you ever wondered who inspired them to make music or their reach on people in everyday life?
POP – Michael Jackson and Madonna
Let’s start with pop. We all have heard the name Michael Jackson, also known as the king of pop for his reach on people and his stunning stage show with his dance moves and his vocals. Madonna is just as popular as Jackson; she’s a female icon of pop similar to Jackson with vocals and songs that will always grab attention of many and inspire just as many pop singers that are known today with changing the genre into what it is.
ROCK – Elvis Presley and the Beatles
Similar to Jackson, Elvis Presley is known as the king of rock, and he was one of the pioneers of the genre with his dancing on stage and his heart felt music. With love songs in the form of rock, he definitely inspired many of the artists to come later in the 70s. Let’s go on to another group that pioneered this genre with guitar work and more of rock ‘n’ roll style, The Beatles did all of that; they became the rock ‘n’ roll of the country when they came in with the British invasion of music and took over so fast. They became the number one band of the 60s. In less than 10 years, they inspired so many and touched the hearts of many.
RAP – Eminem and 2pac
Let’s move on to a big genre in today’s standards. If you’ve heard of rap this name should ring a bell: Eminem. Being the king of controversy and one of the biggest rappers to ever exist, selling over a million albums and at a point in time being one of the only rappers to have over a million streams on each of his albums, as of right now he has made over 10 albums. 2pac, who influenced many on the same level as Eminem has, used his indomitable personality, his natural ability to appeal to people, and his revolutionary mind to make him one of the biggest rappers and he still is; sadly, he passed at a very young age at the age of 25. Only having 4 albums made when he was living, he inspired the likes of Kendrick Lamar to start rapping. 2pac always spoke out against social injustice with people and spread light on topics that people ignored. Eminem also inspired people as much as 2pac did in the 90s.
Hip hop – Beasty boys and Outkast
Beasty Boys was one big pioneer of the genre of hip hop music. Some of their album art was referenced a couple years ago on the Kamikaze album by Eminem, as he had an impact on many rap artists and other groups. Outkast introduced a new type of rap, and they are the pioneers of melodic rap.
Country – Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton
If you have been into country music, you would have heard of Johnny Cash for having covers of songs like Hurt by Nine-Inch Nails and being around for so long. Helping build the genre of music, he inspired many that came into music with guitar and country. Dolly Parton is a female icon to country music. She paved for females the way Madonna did with her voice and nice guitar work. She also inspired pop artists with her mix of pop and country.
