Fans of superhero and monster thrillers can expect a Wolf Man movie to premier in January, from the minds of the hit, Invisible Man. Those fans can follow this up with Captain America: Brave New World in February. With Chris Evans leaving the role and passing his famed shield, Marvel enjoyers are excited to see where the franchise will head next.
Laughs are also plentiful in 2024, as are heartwarming family comedies. Paddington in Peru is airing in February, which is the third movie in the lovable franchise of Paddington the Bear. Paddington is returning to his homeland of Peru in this film and will undoubtedly get into another adventure. For the more mature comedy fans, Good Fortune airs a little later in the year, in October. This comedy is meant to be a comeback for director Aziz Ansari, and stars fan favorite Keanu Reeves.
After becoming a blockbuster hit in 2024, Wicked, based on the Broadway play and the Wizard of Oz, will get a sequel in November 2025. The sequel will continue to follow the misunderstood villain, Elphaba, and how she became the famed Wicked Witch of the West.
Finally, fans of a good scream will be well fed in 2025, with multiple horror films debuting this year. The Monkey comes to theaters in February, centering around a seemingly innocent cymbal smashing monkey doll. The movie, directed by the creator of Longlegs and based off of a Stephen King story, is sure to send a chill down the spines of many. Another thrill comes in late March, with The Woman in the Yard. Not much is known about the movie, but director Jaume Collet-Serra is sure to bring a unique spin to the horror genre.
